Tips for Smart Traveling
|
- Use your CMU Business MasterCard for most reimbursable travel
expenses (e.g. hotel accommodations, car rental, airfare). The use of
your Business MasterCard will provide enhanced travel information
assisting CMU's efforts to learn whether additional cost saving
opportunities can be achieved.
- Review and consider whenever cost effective, Saturday night stay
over, purchasing airline tickets at least two weeks in advance and the
departure airport selected.
- Utilize CMU programs that direct bill per minute charges back to
your departmental cost center for telephone and Internet services.
When traveling: Faculty and staff members may take advantage of toll-free
access (1-888-454-2224) to CMU’s modem pool from anywhere in the
United States. There is a $0.05 per minute charge for the
service on all calls. These charges will be billed back to the
faculty or staff member’s department or specified account number.
For information about using the service, please contact a representative
in the IT Service Center by calling (989) 774-3091.
